Last updated 03:27pm (Mla time) 08/29/2006(UPDATE) AN UNDETERMINED number of pirated compact discs were seized in several raids conducted in Mandaluyong City and the municipality of San Juan by operatives of the Optical Media Board (OMB).Led by its chairman and actor Edu Manzano, the OMB confiscated local and foreign DVDs (digital versatile discs), VCDs (video compact discs), music CDs (compact discs), and video games that were being sold at the St. Francis Square in Ortigas and Shoppesville Center in Greenhills.

Everybody knows that Greenhills has long been known as some sort of a “pirate’s den” and it took the OMB this long to do the raid? Yes, they may raid the area every now and then but I bet a whole month’s salary that the purveyors of pirated stuff will be back hours after the raiding team leaves the place. This is a sad fact and unless the local government of San Juan cooperates with OMB, the unofficial title of “pirate’s den” will contiue to be stuck to the Greenhills shopping area.
